I rather liked them, but they were too much money for something that didn't have a BMW, Merc or Audi badge.  ::)

There was also a very small number produced with the same 4.6l V8 that was in the P38 FFRR of the day. Quite an undertaking when you consider that all other variants of the car were FWD!
Ford lump from the Mustang ;) bit newer than the P38...

Isn't there a Ford Mustang Pony on the plenum to remind us where the engine is from?  :y

We has an mgzt190+ 2.5 v6. Very hard ride but it stuck like glue.

I always thought the MG variants didn't really have the go to back up the big wheels and spoilers, a bit all mouth and very little trouser...

Exactly my experience. A mate of mine had one. Sounded fantastic. Couldn't pull the skin off a wet rice pudding*. ;D

* -  not strictly true, but if I was going for V8 running costs I'd want a lot more go in return.

it's just the base spec 260hp 4.6 Ford used in everything. After measuring the output on the same dyno that rated a 3.0l Essex at 138hp ;D . It sounds better than it is. Although the Rover has got to weigh less than a Mustang....

comprehensively re-engineered by Packard to make more power, last longer and be mass produced in enough numbers to make a long term difference.
