To hell in a handcart
« on: 18 July 2019, 17:05:33 »

This is where the so-called government is leading us.

They voted today to give IRA terrorists compensation.
They once again voted to try and thwart us leaving the EU
They take their climate policy from an autistic 16-year old
They do nothing about the rising levels of knife crime across the UK

They no longer represent us.

Oh yes, our politics are a mess! >:( >:(

We need a miracle, a strong new leader, and a General Election to hold our MP's to account.

And no, I have not changed my mind about the Buffoon who will make things far worse before they get better , but not with him,-one day! ;)

Oh, and also today, MoD defence contract awarded to Capita for fire and rescue service.

Capita - AGAIN! Is there anything they don't control?

That's a lot of outrage for entirely predictable things. Or are you genuinely surprised  :-\

Not surprised, Doc. Merely exasperated that the fabric of this once great country is being torn apart – and, amazingly, under a so-called conservative government.

No more LibLabCon for me — ever.  >:(

As an example of extreme incompetence, Channel 4's Britain's New Build Scandal has just been shown featuring one of the largest house builders, Persimmon, who is part of the Government's Help to Buy Scheme.

The result is the Government is putting money in that enables Persimmon Homes to make £66,000 profit per house, for this company to then build sub-standard homes (total spent so far of our money over all the housing developers is £12 billion), the former COE to receive a bonus of £75 million, and the shareholders dividends to soar!!

You just could not make it all up,  Everything has gone crazy! >:( >:( >:(

The Invention of Boris Johnson last night on channel 4.

I don't think old BoJo came out of it smelling of roses........not that it will make a difference to the outcome of the next PM.

Spot on.

I think now that anything could happen.

Some interesting insights to the Brexit debacle of the last three years on the BbC website taken from tonights Panarama programme. We are now stuffed due to snowflakes hamstringing decisive action at every opportunity.

It is interesting that we now have a new leader of the EU. A candidate that magically appeared from nowhere put forward by the establishment ( the same one driving Remain by the way). So no democracy just a candidate that scraped in. She is unsurprisingly Juncker 2.0. So the EU havent learnt anything at all from the last three years. So Brexit is still the right thing.

Sadly whatever the country does will be duff thanks to everyones actions on both sides.  Quite sad really but the politicians wont care. Nice pension. Carney wont care that he repeatedly talked down the pound and economy despite things not quite turning out so. Anyway he is off to the Eurobank along with Lagarde.

Keir Starmer. Now he looks like a prime minister.  Coalition of Labour, Lib Dems and Greens? Might just scrape a majority which Tories, Brexit party will not.

All quite depressing. Same here in Spain. We are heading for fourth general election in about three years. Still no party with a majority so nothing is happening on policies.

P.S. the pathetic programme last night belittling Johnson just sums it up. No other country on earth would run such a programme. Hello!  Jeremy Vine  culture. I cannot believe any sane person wasted time watching it. Does not mean I think he is the saviour or a great statesman. He is not.

More bad news today confirming what most of us know:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-44884113

Yes, that is just ONE out of 10 crimes result in a prosecution, and Crime overall is 11% UP!! >:( >:(

Regardless of what is being promised by the two wanting to be PM, we MUST have 20,000 more police officers out there having the time to fight crime and provide the evidence to a "kicked up the arse" CPS so that far more prosecutions follow!

;D ;D poor old "evening all" George would not recognise what the police have to do now. It is a completely different Britain than existed in the 1950's & 60's. Remember those days when nice friendly policemen walked in two's seemingly everywhere, now they are driving past so quickly you do not see them, and they are often single crewed, even at night!

We need that new approach and funding, now! ;)

It's okay HMRC are rolling out the changes they made to IR35 Legislation to the private sector, despite that doing so in the public sector did not result in extra tax coming to the public purse, but just resulted in chaos for all the governments IT projects.

When it's rolled out in the middle of brexit fallout it's a perfect storm that will help British Industry implode.

My MP's reaction to this ? Who knows ? He's never had a real job.

Then mine will be at Calais for 300 years stuck in customs waiting for your paperwork. You wont know what to send as parliament is suspended. People will miss the end.  Agh.
