Help please over heating problem
« on: 08 November 2018, 13:22:54 »

2.6 omega

It would seem that my cooling fan is not kicking in. temp gauge on the dash is reading 90-100 but the fan has not started, all connections look ok.

Was working fine, any pointers as to what could be the problem?

Does the fan spin freely by hand? Disconnect battery first just incase it suddenly decides to work.

If yes, connect it directly to the battery and see if then works.

Lastly, was aircon on or off? All working normally?

the pink socket in the triangular relay/fuse box under the bonnet is a test point for the fans .....

Yes fan spins by hand.

Aircon off. Don't work, needs a re-gas.

I'll give the pinouts a go and see what I find.

Thanks.

Aircon off. Don't work,  ....

That'll be why at least one of the fans isn't running  ;)

Think I may have found the problem.  The radiator has a small split in the plastic side, So that needs sorting out first.

The radiator on mine has a split too as well as cam covers that piss oil out almost as quick as I can pour it in. and don't mention the knackered suspension and rampant rust which I thought this car didn't have when I bought it.......
