Ive never had them off this one before so was expecting something horrific. I was pleasantly surprised to only find treatable surface rust.

I disagree. Ive used Hydrate 80 on metal like that before and it stopped it in its tracks.

you're looking at the good side. Rust is always worse than it looks, and covers a bigger area. The time for chemical rust treatments on an Omega was at least 17 years ago. An effective treatment now starts with an angle grinder.

Idler arm replaced, with judicious use of a BFH.

Going to road test it after lunch, hopefully will be a noticeable improvement. I think the old bush had been manufactured from Jesus' sandals judging by the state of it...!

Took the CLS500 for an MOT. Was a bit nervous being the first time with this car. But it passed with flying colours with no advisories and even commented on how good everything is. They liked the V8 sound it makes an all  8) :y

Just picked the Monaro up from the paintshop.
Had a scratch on the drivers skirt(I did that) and a scuff on nearside of front bumper.
Got to make it look good as its on show at the NEC next month

Always great a straight pass & got to agree the sound of a V8 is music to a petrolheads ears.😀

Had four new tyres fitted to the RRS as I was tired of pumping up with two with nails in them .. plus the PO had fitted four totally different tyres ::)

4 x General Grabber AT 3 in 275/45R20 110V for £680, fitted, from Tyres Northampton (plus £80 for geo front & rear). Ride is transformed having gone from 40 profile to 45, and they are M&S tyres so a decent compromise for road, off-road and winter use.

the sort of heavy metal played by a bad pub band. European V8s are particularly bad. Why do they make such an awful racket?
