Full sill panels are about £50, from ATP. I much prefer to fit the entire panel as there's less trimming, welding and tidying, so it's quicker easier and better looking. I'm doing some free(we haven't bought anything to do the job) repairs on a mate's Rover, and there is nearly 2m of welding along the sill, not counting the spot welds along the pinch weld.

There will also be a lot more rot behind the sill panel as well

Which is another reason to replace the whole panel and not 'save time' by patching what's not there.

Can you weld or a local mate weld?

If not, then you will be paying someone, may as well be a good garage.
