My 2.2i 2003 temp gauge stopped working yesterday.

I can't find the location of the sender. Where is it located?

I understand there are 2. One for the ECU and one for the gauge.

Did the CD come with heated wing mirrors?

I saw some for sale and they both had a small heated mirror image on the top outer part of the mirror. Mine has never worked and they don't have the symbol.

Do all Omega heated wing mirrors have the heated symbol on them?

Omega General Help / O/S/F wishbone Bushe bracket rust

Here is a photo of my O/S/F wishbone bush mounting point. It has started to rust. I want to keep the car for as long as possible.

Shell I get it welded up or just wire brush and paint it before putting the new wishbones on?

Omega General Help / Spark plug question

Just ordered some GM spark plugs that came in a plain white box with GM 95519055 on the side and GM on the plugs. But they are not made by Bosch but Champion and are RC10DMC4 made in France.

I thought the plugs for the Omega were made by Bosch for GM.

Have GM changed over from Bosch to Champion plugs?

Omega General Help / Coil pack removal bolt size needed

After taking the securing bolts out of the coil pack, I then need two larger bolts to screw back in to pull the pack off.

What is the diameter of the bolt needed and what is the correct thread size?

I don't think my coil pack on my 2.2 can take another pulling out without the bolts.

Has anyone tried the Strongflex Bushes?

They are a lot cheaper than the Powerflex and have the same 80ShA hardness.

Any thoughts on them would be appropriated.

Omega General Help / Play in steering wheel

Never noticed this before.

Parked up turned the engine off started getting out of the car and noticed a lot of play in the steering wheel. The road wheels were pointed to the 1-2 o'clock position. I have at least 1 inch  play in the steering wheel before the road wheel moves.

What could be the cause of this?

Does anyone have the VX part numbers for the front and rear bushes and ball joint?

How can I tell if my wishbones or if I buy some second hand ones are original VX?

Does anyone have the part number for the complete wishbones from VX?

Do all the FL models have the same wishbones?

If there are any alternative brand ball joints or bushes that are as good please let me know.

The battery that is in the car is a 60Ah 550CCA.

Will I run into any problems with the alternator etc if I put in a Bosch S5007 100 Type 74Ah 750CCA battery?

I had an Omega estate and took out the Parrot Bluetooth that was working and plugged into this connecting socket. The socket was up behind the glove box. See links of the socket below.

Was this socket only in the CDX models and up or was it in the CD models as well?

I haven't taken the glove box out yet but I have had a torch and mirror up behind the glove box and I don't see any sign of it.

Omega General Help / Omega 2.2 CD manual 2003 Air Con problem

Over the last few months the A/C has been getting warmer and now there is no cold air at all.

I read somewhere that if the A/C compressors clutch engages then there is still refrigerant in the system. Is this correct?
The compressors clutch is engaging.

The condenser fins are all clear and the fan is working fine.

Can refrigerant degrade to the point of not cooling?

Does anyone have the correct colour wiring codes from the car body to the drivers door speaker?

The speaker suddenly stooped working so I guess it is a broken wire between the car body and the drivers door.
