The church
« on: 21 February 2019, 22:22:14 »

Mainly the catholic church but, generally, any church. The more I see and hear about this wicked organisation, the more I hate it. It seems to me that people actually go into priesthood solely to be in a position to abuse people, mostly children.
And what happens when they are found out by their seniors? Well....you know.

Not just the priests, nuns too.

FIL and his brothers were put in a home till they were old enough to work. He was never warm. They got beaten for the least indiscretion. They never saw each other except if they were ill then a brother would nurse them and clean up after them. Pure evil.

Give the opportunity and evil  graviates towards it.

Even nowt hey still close ranks and protect the guilty.

Religion! The root of all evils.

'Religion' is like any other organisation on Earth; it is run by mankind, by many people who just seek power over others by using the Bible /Qur'an, etc., as their justification as the Crusaders did and Isis has recently done.  What they have in common is their political power that they have always used to control the people.  That power is now fading, as it is currently with our politicians!

If you do without those middlemen, and worship God direct, you lose those complications. 8) ;)

God Botherer's full of piety but with no real empathy or compassion should all be sent to Room 101. :)

My wifes parents and their families had first hand experience of unwanted attention from the catholic church here in the 1930-40's .
I was told some of it , and found some more out myself , but knew that there was much much more just under the surface .
Even now there are areas that when speaking to the remaining cousins and family they fall silent and avoid .

I too seen the injustice and crass piety of the catholic church in my first marriage . A sil who bore a child to her priest and the almost comical events that followed eventually resulting in the father ( excuse the pun ) being spirited away to some penal reindocrination school rather than being kicked out .
He may still be waving his rod , sorry , staff .
The mother was a qualified accountant and ended up a partner in an Edinburgh based firm who spookily did a lot of work for , wait for it , the catholic church.  ::)

Over here amongst the many many revolting and proven events I think this is the most repugnant of them all .

Artifice , brutality and innocence .
Sort of sums it up.

The biggest problem with systematic and institutional abuse in the name of goodness is the fact that if anyone in a position to do something philanthropic automatically has their motives questioned. Especially where children are concerned. Doesn't matter if it's simply giving Saturday mornings to coach kids football or buying a large chunk of property and setting up a summer camp... Someone will have something to say about why...

This must deter a lot of people from ever doing anything positive even if the have the means to.
