Code Reader Help
« on: 02 December 2018, 10:38:04 »

My code reader tells me that my left rear ABS sensor is faulty.

Is that nearside or offside?  ie left as I'm sat in the drivers seat so nearside?  ???

TIA!  :y

Left rear would be near side. Seeing as they are identical and a doddle to change you could swa them over and see if it comes up as right rear .

Well when someone on here says something is a doddle, I should know by now to walk away and book it into the garage.  ::)  ;D

The bolt holding the sensor in was very tight but I still manged to snap it off despite plenty of WD and care.  ::)  Then the ABS sensor itself has just disintegrated as I've tried to remove it, which as it's been there for nearly 20 years isn't surprising really.  :-\

Sigh....  :(

Thats a shame but if the sensor was faulty anyway then you havnt broken a good one. Personally never had a rear one stuck.bolt or sensor .front ones well thats a different matter. Never ever got a front one out intact !
No doubt a garage would have snapped your bolt too.they would take less care than you probably.

Yes and I've no doubt now that the sensor was faulty as it fell apart very easily.  :y

What cars this on? For the ones on hondas, for example, I’ve not even attempted to remove it. Take the bolt out. Then brakes off. Unbolt wheel bearing. Chisel out old sensor from behind. Grind a little bit out of the hole so new one fits nice. Refit. 👍
