That must really boil your piss.....over £1000 to tax two cars.  ;D ;D ;D

Yes.....it does boil my piss.

It's actually almost £1200 not £1000. :-\

I suppose it's worth it to keep a future classic like the Signum alive. :)
You could buy a decent sigmund with that

I'm loving this  ;D

The majority run on derv so have little value. The 2.8 Turbo V6 petrol being the exception (if you can find one) :)
Of course you can't find one. Have you seen the road tax on them?  ;D

Here's one for little more than your annual tax:

Why do leather seats in some higher milers look like soggy sacks?

Still a Jaaaag innit!  :y

And the neighbours would be impressed....  ::)  ;D
Nah. The Asian lad from the corner shop would laugh at it. He's got an AMG 63.

Must be a cornershop owners car, as my local has AMG63 too.

Or using a corner shop as a front for drug running, and or money laundering.

surely the multiple fake social security claims from the shop is enough to run a thirsty Merc without the need to subsidize it with black market sales or such like  :-\

Every bugger around these parts run AMG badged Mercs, and drive like all Merc drivers (ie, gormless).

I suspect most aren't real AMGs, just a trim pack, like BMW's M-Sport, Audi's S-Line and so on.  But them most Merc owners seem to struggle with the power they have* in their weedy, underpowered diesels, so probably just as well they don't have proper ones ;D

*Or have come to realise how poor the C/E class chassis is, and have already shat themselves.

I'm half thinking about changing my astra, have been for a while now. I want another estate, diesel, auto. Looking on the trader, I came across a nice looking 64 plate jaaaaaaag. XF 2.2 TD Sportbrake auto. Then I got to the tech specs. It's less powerful (both bhp and torque) than my astra and is slower to 60! It's even got the green and red sport badge on the rear and steering wheel.  :o
Disappointed.
That old 2.2 diesel also has a reputation for getting nowhere near its claimed MPG.  The XF saloon is the same weight as the Omega at 1.8t, not sure without looking on the weight of the Estate.  Its a bit underpowered.  Clearly, if it must be a soot chucker, the V6 diesel is the one to have.  Actually, the V6 -S badged ones.

Beware, the early 8 speed ZF gearboxes are known to be weak (much like the early 6 speed ZF), and on the XF, around 2012 is the changeover point to 8 speed.

The non S V6 soot chucker is 235ish bhp
The S V6 soot chucker is 275ish bhp (up to about 2016ish, when it became 300)

Tax is the same, claimed economy is the same. Why would anyone buy the half-arsed one?  The more powerful one has 600Nm of torque as well, which will rip the tarmac from the road.

Most of them are in their senior years, so this isn't something they are unaccustomed to. ;)
