Focus dash light question.
« on: 09 January 2018, 21:09:44 »

I am in sunny Scarborough again and have a ford focus hire car. Six gears and not devils ⛽️. Keyless , auto lights.

Anyway , a dash schematic has me and others scratching their heads. When you start it up there is “fire” coming out of the back of the car on the dash schematic. It goes after maybe half an hour.

Is this just something to say the engine isnt at peak efficiency i.e. not fully hot? Onlyother thought is rear fog light?

No manual. Anyone know?

Is it hill assist ? If it is, there maybe a button on the gear stick to turn it off  :-\

A little concerning that it stays for half an hour, does not sound right at all.

Those keyless entry Fords are the easiest to nick with this two box theft approach going around.

That's weird, because that's the manual for a 2015 Focus, so you'd think it would have all the possible lights..

it is a 66 reg car. ST

I found the manual (in the boot rather unhelpfully)

Still no idea. Information display  I might find a Ford dealer and ask them (what do you mean - good luck with that!)

Never did get to the bottom of this “warning light” . I find them irritating. Bit like all the binging and bonging if you get out with the key with engine running or leave seat belt off while practicing handbrake turns.

So I went to a Ford dealer. Answer? It has auto lights, something to do with that.

Mrs V has just told me that it would be frost warning light. Sure enough there it was in the script you posted Aaron. In my defence ( pretty poor one I admit) it was orange in colour should have been blue or white and how daft showing it at the back of the car.

Next time, i will ask for a more basic car to match my user abilities so-long as it has cruise control ;D

So your description of fire coming out of the back of the car is really this symbol ... /*\
Yellow for 1-5C, it changes to red for temps of less the 1C iirc  :y

I see. So the back of the car is really the road in front of you.  ;D

In my defence( and I perhaps should employ Saul or other lawyer) the car had two outside temp gauges showing temps of 4 deg or so. It was definitely orange or red. Why would it be coming out of the back of the car?  Perhaps better would be the words frost alert or better nothing at all. Last time I was that cold was the first eighteen years of my life. You don't need some fancy symbol to tell you there might be ice about(behind you).

Can we move on now as I am embarrassed :-[ :-[ :-[
