Direct debit payments are now showing as £48.56 each month for both Signum and Tata.
£48.56 x 12 = £582.72 (twice) :'(
-
I believe they've only gone up for rich people, the rest of us are ok. :)
-
Mine is still £17.06, same as last month. :)
-
Special Signum tax :y
But jeeeeze, a grand a year in road tax. :o
I like petrol engines, but not that much.
As mentioned before, a 3.0 twin turbo 6 cylinder petrol in M140 is just £130 a year!

Wifey's newer one is, mine is an eye-watering £130.
What, exactly, do you use the signum for?

It's fortunate that both cars are miserly with petrol..........Oh.... hang on. :-\

Look..it's all relative. It's £20 a week, WTF does £20 buy you now? Not much.

Not even a decent blow job unless you live a long way north. :)

I know the V70 was re-taxed at the beginning of July this year and is slightly more expensive than the Omega which was taxed last December so as they were at one time the same amount then the price must have increased at least once this year.

That's the problem on a forum full of old geezers, they think in old money. I spend money in supermarkets and other places every day. I know what stuff costs.
As for Tunnie, he's spent too much time on old geezer's forums.

Doubt it now diesels are becoming socially unacceptable, as I can see diesel RFL and diesel duty taking a hike going forward

Historically older cars get very little tax change, just inflation. Can’t see them doing anything on older diesels, just new ones.
System now just set on value of 40k being upper tax band.

The one I posted above is Euro 6, not liable for ulez.

Pretty sure mine was £540 last May :-\

I prefer the astra, and you wouldn't get an elite nav insignia for that money.

Almost £12000 for a two almost three year old Astra is too expensive.
Should be sub ten.

He must have kept the ticket price below 40k and even then its £515 for the first year and then £140 for each subsequent year (if above 40k you can add £310).....or its registered pre April 2017

Yeah, mine (66 plate) was £140 pa. As for the below £40k, I think you'd do well to spec one up to that level. Mine had most things (auto, heated seats, Harmon kardon, pro nav etc) and was £32k and I didn't get the best deal around. Certainly back then, you could get a Billy basic manual car for high £20k's.
At that price its a lot of performance for the money. When it works ::)

Or.....I slept on it and thought better of it. Something I didn't do in my eBay days. I'd wake up on Sunday morning, look at my emails and think 'Fook...I bought a car last night'.

It's overpriced, an odd colour, and after the 'unbridled power' of the 2 litre Astra it will feel shit slow. :)

About the same 0-62. Less power but much lighter chassis. Around 10 mpg better, as well.

Very likely to be one of, if not the last hot hatch with RWD and more than 4 cylinders.
Current rumours are that it's replacement will be a turbo 4 pot with AWD. Shame really.
-
Yeah 1 Series next gen won't be RWD, also I hear only auto's no manual option.
It is a hoot, small 3 door hatch back, 3.0, RWD, manual.
-
At one time you were always informed of an increase in road fund licence, but for quite a few years now it has increased in the budget with absolutely nil notification. I think all 3 of our vehicles are around £280 a year each.

I find the one series 'excessively ugly'.........a lump devoid of style.
Mind you women have been known to say the same of me. :)

Ah, so the M in M140 stands for Misogynist ;D

I'm paying the same as I was last month and there's nothing online about a rise. Unless...it's for higher band rates. It doesn't usually go up in October, does it? I don't know :-\

I've figured it out. Car tax went up from £46.81 to £48.56 in April 2018.
DD on Tata ran from August to August so £48.56 only paid for September and October so far.
Signum DD runs from November to November so I'm still paying the old rate of £46.81......until November when it will be the same as the Jag.

The issue is that the road tax is based on RRP so discounts don't help sadly

An everyday car......much like the Omega. (Although it is faster better looking and better handling than the Omega) as I'm sure you will all agree. 8)
