HPI only, not PCP/leasing/credit card/personal loan... But yes, written into every HPI agreement, including second hand.

Incidentally, you don't even have to have made the 50% payment to return the car, but you will be held accountable for the outstanding balance of your 50%... This is the position I am in with my E Class... Not such a great deal from this perspective, but if you do alot of miles it is a cracking way to get a new car every two years with no penalties.  ;)

TBH had I know about this (or more accurately had I paid more attention last time you mentioned it as I seem to remember talking about it before at some time), it might have influenced my car choice this time around (40-50k/yr would make it worthwhile I think), that said, I am seriously thinking of trying for 500k in the s80, it feels like it could do it.

I suspect the car may outlive the uk diesel supply.

It was mooted as an option, albeit not a great one, for disposal of the BM before you rejected it ;)

Ahh! That was it.

On that note, I gotb2 months insurance, tax and gap insurance back on that too. So it did genuinely just cost me fuel (and 2 near death experiences) in the 6 months I had it.

Not a bad result in the end then, near death notwithstanding  :y

Yes. On balance I've decided to squirrel away the £500pcm or so and buy an Aston Martin V8 vantage/DB9 in a few years.

By my reckoning, they are about the most modern super(ish)cars which can be reasonably DIY'd. Also IMHO two of the top 5 most beautiful cars ever made (others being 250 GTO, mk 1/2 e-type and mk 1 mini - in case you were wondering).

Yes. As long as you build in the assumption that you finance it in another way. Iirc, a lot of cars mpanies screw you on the interest rate on pre-reg cars.
We got £3500 for her megane coupe and got a bank loan at 3% for the remainder. No gap insurance, no supagard, nothing. Salesman was crying his kids might starve to death. C'est la vie.  ;D

Given the list price of new cars the £30K for a top of the range Insignia is not "out of the way".Would I pay it?Absolutely not,but then if I had anything £10K upwards to throw at a car it would without a doubt have a Spirit of Ecstasy up front.

I'll probably go this route for the 3.2's replacement, wack a load of cash down and then Tesco loan or similar for the rest over a short 2 or 3 year term.

Its competition is the Mundano, and I suspect the Titanium X is similar money...
