Sorry, Ian, I should have said - he's sorted now, ta! :y

What's your beef with LMF? (reply via PM might be better!!!)

No probs mate.

Regarding LMF, Its been said on this forum before so here goes...

Basically, cut a long story short, car failed MOT on play in the steering idler. So I ordered a steering idler from LMF, fitted it, and then drove straight to MOT centre (was in a rush, so just assumed that a new bit would solve the problem!).

It failed again - still to much play (infact it was worse than before :o) So I then assumed that it must be the bracket which had worn, so ordered a new one from VX... Still no better, so had to order a genuine steering idler. Fitted the genuine idler to the original bracket – Fine!

I've now learnt that buying cheap crap costs way more in the long run (I’ve now got a GM bracket that’s not needed and cost around 70 quid iirc) Not to mention I almost missed the free MOT retest deadline! And had to take an afternoon off work  >:(

Did you inform LMF about the faulty idler though?
They're normally very good like that - from what I've read and heard about them.
I know Steve, more as a friend than a customer (they've never got owt for my Carlton), and I'm sure he'd prefer to sort it out rather than ruin his and his company's reputation?
