Omega General Help / anyone on here know my new estate, 2.2 petrol

Just bought a nice one owner green 2.2 petrol estate but its has come with no history with it does anyone know it?
its mid green metallic with beige trim, BF 51 ZRJ. Looks like its been well looked probably has a good history and has been lost during the trade in process.

with the key out the power socket is not live but would it charge if left with the ignition on?

(bonnet is stuck wont open even with 2 people)

General Car Chat / over 800 views in 5 days on autotrader, bye bye ELite estate

I was surprised how many views my Omega advert got from its autotrader, over 800 hits in 5 days!

To give an example a typical ad for a £5k Golf or Fiesta will get me 150-350 hits in a week.
I've got an 2009 Golf advertised and its only had 165 hits this week.

Just shows how many people are looking for cheaper cars on the run up to Christmas, my one sold to the first viewer who will hopefully join up here have given him the details.
Sad to see it go after just over 5 years (longest have ever kept a car for) and its been pretty good for an old 2000 W reg car never let me down.

Anyone fancy doing an engine swop for me, I'm in Guildford/Woking and can drive short distance from there, have complete engine to go in place of knackered one, needs doing before xmas.

Currently got two but think I just bought another so will be back up to 3 again very soon! (oops).

Omega General Help / oil filter stuck on V6

serviced the 3.0 yesterday and the guys could not get the oil filter off, forcing it was making the filter housing move rather than the filter itself - so we left it on.

anyone had this on a V6 what is the way to sort this, and is the housing designed to unscrew if the filter is stuck to it? (its been on a few years by the looks of it).

Omega General Help / ABS ECU replacement - before and after

Finally got round to fixing the ABS ecu on my 3.0 Elite and now its back on, the speedo works, no abs lights on, but the brake pedal is still really numb - it takes a good shove to get them to work.

My question is when the ABS ecu has failed does it make the brakes poor?

When I bought this Omega I knew it needed the ABS ecu repaired, so its always had poor brakes, but I was expecting the brake efficiency to be back to normal now its been replaced.

I have another omega so I know how the brakes should feel, but this is far from it has a long brake pedal and you need to stand on the brakes to make them work.

Omega General Help / recommend someone to help fix auto gearbox switch v6

anyone able to help me repair this local to Woking/Twickenham/guildford?

My V6 Elite is doing its best efforts to get scrapped, first the ABS ecu needed done and now its the auto gearswtich playing up.
I am doing my best to keep it alive! Can anyone help me either fix the existing swtichor swap for a good one switch?
I've read the link on how to do it and dont fancy doing this myself.

Omega General Help / cost to do a V6 head gasket

Just found out my new Omega V6 needs a head gasket and is boiling its water. Not a nice surprise, only my second journey in the car since buying it.

Anyone done one recenty how much are the parts?

Might get someone else to do this for me anyone recommended, located SE (surrey/middlesex)

Omega General Help / Estate - rear seats wont go down

my new estate just arrived and the rear seats seem to be locked in place (up).
both buttons feel like they are already stuck down, wont push down any further and dont spring back up either.

anyone had this and how to fix?

Omega General Help / how many 15 kg paving slabs will my omega estate carry in one go?

I'm picking up some paving slabs later in the week in my 3.0 estate anyone done this recently how many will it safely take?
these are small sized concrete slabs 45cm sq.

I reckon they are 15kg each (appox).
