Title: V6 thermostat

Can the stat be removed from it’s housing, as mine needs replacing or is better to replace stat, housing & pipe. Can order the thermostat but the rest is getting harder to find

I believe it is possible to buy just the thermostat on its own and swap just that I've not tried that though as I bought mine complete with the housing and changed the lot.Personally if I were you I'd buy a new transfer pipe too to be on the safe side a they can break/need breaking when being removed and you'd need two new "O" rings where the pipe goes into the thermostat housing anyway.

You can buy the thermostat without the housing, but the cash saving is tiny and not worth it.
You might not need the transfer pipe, but if you need the job to go quickly it's worth having before you start.
