Think you've got something wrong mate - I've tried the correct format for dropbox using info you put in test section - and got as far as this -

HTH :y

If you hit the quote button on my post you will see the correct format :y

Try Photobucket ;)

Once photo's are uploaded into that site from your your "Pictures", copy the middle direct link box Enter "Insert Image" taken from the bar when drafting a post, which is under the "B" for bold, by clicking it, which brings it down to your draft post. Then paste between the "Insert Image brackets of the two symbols the direct link taken from Photobucket :y :y

My effort in the test section also shows how to do a dropbox piccy .. but dropbox does not resize AFAIK .. so you have to resize before uploading. Imageshack allows you to resize on linking which is somewhat easier .. :)

Do as the op did and resize pics prior to uploading to dropbox  ::) ;)

Agree with Lizzie though - Photobucket is easier to use, particularly for novices :y
