Ive just bought a full bose setup for my omega estate as police had it removed from spec!
Now Before i fit it & blow it up fry head unit or blow speakers/amp i was wondering.......
It has been posted before about bose systems & can people please not redirect me to another post please ive looked at some of the posts but doesnt really anser my quiery... all i require is a yes or no if no why please....
Can i fit this bose system to a STANDARD vauxhall CDR500 cd headunit fitted as standard or does it have to be a cassette headunit with bose written on it & run a cd changer that i dont really want??
Because i really dont want to break it up?
My old CDR500 packed up on knob volume went up when turning down, so as a temp i fitted a alpine/kenwood/sony/clarion headunits but all sounded crap at 1/4 volume with what i thort were standard speakers which then started blowing...
ive read the post about 2ohm & 4ohm speaker setup & guessed that the uprated headunits may be blowing the standard speakers...
but on rear of speakers once removed only say 25w...... crappy brown paper things....
ive fitted a pair of sony 120w speakers & sony headunit 4x50w & they sounded crap (distorting at half volume)
so i changed them to clarion 220w speakers & a clarion headunit 4x40w & they too sound crap so i thort sod it!!
Fit standard..!!! put back in a replacement cdr500 with atmo clarion speakers & again headunit on full & not very loud at all but distorted...
So do all standard vauxhall headunits run a 2ohm or just the bose... as speakers obviously 4ohm... but why would uprated speakers & a headunit still sound crap??? or is it because leaving in the standard rear speakers is screwing up headunit??
Thats why i bought the bose setup all 4 speakers wiring loom amp & bose sub & a standard cdr500 headunit but will it all work properly or have i over looked anything...
