Title: cambelt cover removal 1995/96 2ltr X20/XEV
Post by: addy on 06 August 2019, 15:52:38
Can anyone tell me if the front Cambelt cover on a 1995/96 2ltr 16V, can be removed without having to remove the Crankshaft pulley first? If the pulley does have to be removed, is there anyway a 2.2ltr front cover can be used, so access to cambelt and camshaft sensor, is easier?

I am replacing the camshaft sensor, but the how2 is for a 2.2ltr.

Thanks for any help.

2.2 16v is essentially identical to the 2.0 16v so camsensor change is fundamentally the same  :y

Thank you for the reply. Glad to know that I don't have to remove crankshaft pulley, just to remove front cover panel.Done a 2.2 before but was doing headgasket change last time, so never noticed how the cover came off.
