Headlights
« on: 04 April 2007, 23:12:54 »

Quick question
Somebody here might be able to answer this for me.
Do the headlights on the Omega turn off after a period of time?
Vauxhall told me that they do but I have left mine on for 10 mins at which stage with xenon headlights I get the feeling the battery would go flat before anything happened,
Suppose its one way for them to turn off.
It just seems strange to me for headlights to stay on with ignition off.

Not that I'm aware of, and the way they bong at you if you leave them on I seriously doubt it.

The time I noticed it had been driving overnight pulled into layby when light swithed ignition off shut eyes for 10 mins woke up when someone tpapped on window to tell me headlights were on. The panic set in as to if it would start.

I agree with Theo - the audible bong is there as a warning, there is no "night light" function on an Omega for the headlights, however the interior light will go out after 10 mins so Vx may have misunderstood you.  :y

Every Vauxhall & Opel car I've had have been like that.

Headlights will stay on until battery is flat.

Remember HIDs/Xenons use half the power of halogens as well ;)
