I hired a MWB hitop Transit last weekend - seemed like a comfortable, decent drive to me. Granted I was only in it for an hour total

Nothing rusts like a Transit, they have to be one of the poorest built pieces of rubbish still running on that front.

True, but a Sprinter/Crafter isn't much better. And they're far worse things to own.
