Mine has a 1600 xflow bored out to 1700 and is quicker than the mexico  :y

I watched it but .......... Mmmm , not sure  :-\
Not enough on the actual restoration of the car which was disappointing .
Too much hyperbole re "Boy Racers " which would have more than a few owners of pristine modified  MK 1 escorts across here spitting feathers .
I await the Landrover episode to see if it improves.

Yes it was a shame they didn't show more but I think it was done by several people and not just the mechanic shown like other programs of this type.  >:(

My first new car in August 1973 was an Escort Mexico monza blue with white flash, a friend of mine worked for Ford back then, with discount cost me £1030.00 on the road..wish I had it now traded it in for a Granada 3.0 Ghia.

I recently saw one advertised for £65,000........ :D :D

Crazy money for a MK1 Escort.
Mate of mine had one in the early '70s - we had to replace a couple of valves, and then it flew.  Very pokey car at the time.

Went to a little car museum in Devon at the weekend and they had a mk2 Lotus Cortina there on show,very nice it was too
