So you don't see spending £25 as a saving? Or, an investment, so to speak. ...?

Didn't know it was compulsory - surely its up to the individual ::)

As it happens I have TC, and must admit its saved me a lot of dosh over the years - and my dealer is only 11 miles away from me

With the amount of dealers dropping out it will soon be pointless. I'm in Southampton and last year had 3 dealers that took trade club. The nearest now is in Poole then  Aldershot, nether deliver to Southampton.  So I can drive  for  a hour each way or unfortunately resort to non genuine.
I think access to precipitating dealers is going to be a big reason why people don't bother.

Ps should add I'm a genuine card holder(not though abs) and  would say if you are lucky to have a precipitating dealer near you then the £25 abs fee is well worth it.

True that
Mine dropped out last year but still honour trade club prices if they know your face  :)
Must admit, I might save myself 25 quid next December when mines due  :-\

Gone with not bothered :y

Purely because the three dealers I have (relatively) easy access to are prepared to negotiate prices. Sometimes I get upto 20%, sometimes I don't.

Pays to shop around too... I have no issues with importing genuine parts from 3000+ miles away. If it saves me a percentage of the UK retail price in the process, that's great. If any given imported part is cheaper than locally available pattern, then even better imho :y

Buy things in bulk too, helps with negotiating discounts... oil filters are cheap enough individually, but buy a box of ten, and you'll probably save 50%, same with oil/plugs etc...

How about tenacity, with a touch of boredom, masked in a whiff of compulsion... ::)

Not at all. More that some seem obsessed with every/any other option as long as it's not vx. Due to price? That I can understand. But not given tc's existence.

Brake pads. £15
Disc and pad set. £115 (odd)
Oil. £20 litres 10/40 under £50. Less than a single 5ltr can retail.
Speak plugs. £3 each are they?

Etc etc. yet people go out and pay MORE for inferior parts.

Then wonder why trade club is disappearing from dealers in various places.

Don't get me wrong, some stuff is still too expensive even with tc discount. But why not take advantage....?

Use it or loose it. Seems to me.

Except some have already lost tc of course. Sadly. :(
