stereo swap

Does any one know if you can simply swap a 2006 multi play head unit for a 2005, in my 2.2 cd, or does it need additional connections ?

there's basically two different types of stereo fitted to Omega B - those with BOSE and those without.

you can swap like-for-like, but fitting unalike will result in damage.

if you're at all not sure, then \I could have a look for you.......

thanks for your response.

My old CDX had a 4cd changer, which is handy for those longer journeys and I was hoping to replace my CD's standard single player, for the CDX variant.
I will look further into the possibility, once I have caught up with the jobs that need doing.

Both front central locking solenoids are bieng replaced tomorrow, before a trip to Southampton.

Straight swap but as 2Woody says, needs to be non-Bose, and you will most probably need the CCR2006 metal cage as well

Have done this recently on my 2.2 CDX (without Bose) and can confirm keep the CCR2006 cage in the car and inset 2005. All works perfectly.

OP has a CDR2005 so would need the 2006 cage ;)
