Screen wash is not something that keeps me awake at night.   :P
And it shouldn't be,  .....

but as we know, the really cheap sh1te encourages growth of sludge in the washer bottle which will block the filter/strainer.

Ah, yes, was it Bigron who had that with the TripleQX stuff?

Another reason I don't feel bad about tipping it all away :)

Yes, it was, and even after cleaning filter and reservoir and using undiluted TripleQX (I'm part Yorkshire, part Cornish, so don't throw anything away!) it still clogs up.
However, last time I was at Serek's, he showed me a quick and easy way to clear the filter, if it will help anyone else - he opened the connector in the tube feeding the washers (located near the wing side of the battery, before it splits into two tube to feed near and offside washers), and blew hard down the tube feeding back to the reservoir.
It blew the cap off the reservoir!
Strong in every respect, is Serek!  :y

If you have that white stuff formed in the bottle, the only viable solution is to remove both pumps (10s), and flush the bottle out thoroughly (10mins).

Er, with my arthritic fingers, FAR longer than 10 minutes, but I hear you. When I did have the filter out, I scoured it around with a hose anyway.

I buy mine from Vauxhall, their tradeclub stuff, not optiplex.

This time of year it goes in neat so i can keep the screen clear even wehn very cold outside.  Should be down to -20 iirc

Always seems to be £10 a box of 4x5 litre
I shall ring the dealer this week, see what he has :y.  I wasn't aware there was a TC one.

I've tried both and Opticlean is so much better - cheap on TC

I`m still using the Halfords -10 stuff, l bought a couple of bottles a couple of weeks ago and it was still £4.99 for 5l.

Still smells nice too  :y
The -10C is around £3.50 on trade.  The -20C is around £5.50, and I figure you can dilute further.

The premix -20C is a lot cheaper, but not sure if that can be further diluted?

I don`t have the luxury of TC so I pay the full price of £4.99 for the neat and dilute 50/50

I have used Opticlean for years, seemed cheap enough Trade Club. As said earlier, I was charged £20 for 1 5 litre bottle of Opticlean at Bellingers |Grove, who used to be my handy Trade Club supplier in my Senator days. Are you sure it is £10 for 4X5 litres?

A chap at work uses water in the summer, and a 50/50 mix or car shampoo and water :-X

He also wonders why the filter keeps clogging  ::)
