after speaking to my GP who advised me that Solpadiene are NOT addictive,
Your GP was more than likely talking the physical sense (ie, in the same way there is no physical addiction to a bit of weed, sulphate, etc).

The mental addiction however can be quite ruling for some.

I manage a substance misuse service with 400+ people on the books, we are seeing huge numbers of people with these issues in the last few years as the amount of Codeine allowed has been increased and can be bought readily in large boxes.

In essence, in the quantities mentioned this is a large amount of opiates being consumed and would definately have a physical, and as Killerwatt said Psychological withdrawal.

You should be proud of your achievement :y and continued abstinence as I have seen many a life ruined and one or two fatalities due to OTC dependancy.

Too many rather scousers on here. Well, plazzies anyway. ;D
Pastic Scouser
a wannabe scouser will put on a liverpool accent and act like a scouser to try and look hard or impress somebody or make them stand out.
People that come from formby and ormskirk can offten be plastic scousers and will act this way.

Formby eh? Tony? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
You need to keep up Steve I've moved to a lovely leafy suberb of Formby you probably know it Stockbridge village  :y a quaint little place with lots of trees, a babbling brook running under a dry stone bridge on the main street, lots of animals in the fields, plenty of wildlife in the hedgerows which can be observed whilst picking elder flowers to make wine and wild blackberrys to make home made  preserve, tea dances in the local village hall organised by the womens institute followed by a whist drive with tea biscuits and assorted home made sponge fancies, followed up by a few games of bridge in the conservative club. I've gone up in the world.  ;)

So that would be:

The river Alt with filled with shopping trolleys
Staffordshire bull terriers running loose
A dodgy pint in the Black Angus

More like the Stockbridge village I know ;D

Corn Dog, as we call it is a plain povvie dish. I think my nan would be spinning in her grave at the thought of beef stock in it. Although a fried egg on the top goes well :)

As already mentioned utilise the dignity at work policy.

If he alledges there are performance issues they should have been raised during supervision/performance review meetings , no issues discussed with you = no issues give you grief for. Good luck, but don't ignore the situation as you will feel crapper for it.

I think Vamps and STMO123 ought to be barred or have restriceted access for driving Wrong Wheel Drive cars.  ;D ;D ;D

Pretty soon, unless you all buy beemers, you will all be joining us :P

TBH I would rather have had a fwd over this last week as the miggy has been next to useless and near lethal at times!

On the subject of getting to work I asked my team to try their best and take their time and am happy that 90% have made it in ok. We run the drug team in a big health center and most other dep'ts are shut such as physio, blood clinic etc. Personally my conscience wouldn't let me sag off!!

General Discussion Area / Stupid gate question!
« on: 29 December 2009, 14:50:29 »
Just in the process of gating off the drive at the side of my house and am planning on making the gates(130cmx180cm each gate) myself due to the ridiculous costs being quoted, they dont need to be anything fancy so it occured to me I could just use plywood instead of faffing around with T&G.

Does anyone here have ply gates? or is there any reason it shouldnt be used?

Excuse the dimness, but been out digging the post holes and got brain freeze
