Sound a right pair of c**ts to me.

That would be an accurate description, I think!

I'll get the tyre sorted and then WBAC can have it.
WBAC will try to nit pick as well. But, if you're prepared to walk away, they'll honour the price.
(Take the dog with you)  ;D

Fault found, part ordered, just need to wait for it to arrive. Although it was egay, so probably the wrong bit will turn up weeks late.
The thought of having to wash up is incompatible with my mindset, and counting the number of plates and cups, and comparing it to likely egay delivery times, things aint looking good.  Hotpoint themselves are actually cheaper than egay, as is often the case, but their standard delivery looked too slow...  ...but on reflection probably still shorter than most egay sellers.

Anyway, due to above, faulty part has been cut and glued, and the machine has passed its self test diag cycle, and is now making a start on the pile of crockery by the sink.

You should have bought a load of paper plates and cups  ;) ;D

Yep.  :y

I would have liked to have fixed it up, but the reality is that I've too much on at the moment and it would have just sat on the drive forever, so it had to go!  :P

In comparison to the 530 the V70 is like driving a canal boat, but it suits my needs better as I can get more in it.  :y

I did suggest that to Mrs TB, but she's from Oxford, and Oxfordians are a special breed, so she declined with something along the lines of not while I have a hole up my jacksie.

Serves a purpose in this case.

My point with part worns is they never make financial sense if you think you will be changing them again...

I bet you didn't  ;D ;D :D

Just been looking at a works colleagues 3 series which was doing the same, 2k at a dealers and three drive shaft later.....we checked all the rear bushes and all were shot, you could get loads of movement in the hub....hence why they pop out.  :y

Indeed it did - Continentals for £30 a piece.. still didn't get the £16k I was looking for from WBAC:

"Stone chip on the bumper. That's a bodyshop repair, £300 off"
"Scratch on the passenger door. That's a bodyshop repair, £300 off" (I swear that scratch wasn't there before the two idiots came to look at the car on Sunday... :-X)
"2cm scratch on the passenger wing. That's a bodyshop repair, £300 off"
"That wheel needs a refurb. That's £95 off"
"Less our £75 admin charge, of course"

In the end, £15,500, but at that point I just wanted to see the arse end of it and never see the bloody thing again, and my desire to ever sell another car is zero; so I guess I'll be running the rest until they go to the scrap yard!
