Mercedes crossover
« on: 21 September 2016, 19:22:07 »

Had a rear view of a Merc GLA 'crossover'(?) on the M4 yesterday. I thought it was one of the fugliest rear ends I had ever seen. :o

The saloon isn't any better looking; it looks like it melted in the sun.

Would almost be worth catching the clap. But not quite.

Anyway.. I don't find the GLA particularly offensive, personally. Quick in AMG form, too.

It was a kind of yuck brown which didn't help. 90% of SUV types seem to have this huge aluminium tongue licking up from under the rear, which I think are hideous. :( :y

Yeah, the 1970s appears to be back and it's brought the British Leyland colour catalogue with it!  ;D ;D

I always wanted one of these back in the day, but couldn't afford one so had an Uno SX instead.  It was a great little car and surprising how quick a biscuit tin can be with a 1.4 in it!  :y

Had an UNO with the mighty 1000cc FIRE engine in it ;D

Did about 50,000 miles in it and apart from a rear brake cylinder (Tenner) it cost hee haw to run :)

Don't like many of the new motors on offer at present, the Merc could easily be confused with a Hyundai or vice-versa . The only vehicle I would like if I could justify spending the cash would be a Toyota Land cruiser always fancied one, the Amazon V8.

Apart from an electric window mechanism, that was the only thing that went wrong with my Uno as well!  :y
