Thankyou for all the responses sounds good, but what jim has mentioned you need the rear window with a gap on it has me thinking I may not be able to fit it.

Can someone post up a piccy of the correct windscreen to have to benefit from having the high level brake light.

My rear windcreen has the black strip right across the top but having tried it in place looks to be ok, although there are little black dots below the black strip that go right across the window at the top, but that shouldn't affect it imo.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / High Level Brake light Fitment woes
« on: 18 September 2006, 14:58:59 »
Following on from my last thread I was thinking of fitting a rear lip spoiler with the brake light incorporated, trouble was I kept missing them on Ebay so went the high level brake light route instead.

Courtesy of Issunaz having met up with him for a few bits for the Black Omega I got my hands on a high level brake light for mine.

Fun begins, I removed the passenger side rear panel which has the grab handle fixed to only to find no connector for the high level brake light.

Can anyone tell me whether the connector should be there for a high level light, my car is a 97P cd spec Omega whether it was an additional I dont know.

Could anyone suggest any where else the connector might be, I was thinking to open the bundle of cables that run up the side of the passenger side under the back seat.

Could this be hidden under my rear parcel shelf (unchecked area of the car so far)

Any advice, suggestions would be much appreciated

Can the colour displays be fitted to all omegas provided they have the right audio equipment?
It would require the correct loom as well as the correct head unit. There are two multiplugs going into the back of the color display, not one.

Easy to check though by removing the instrument cluster to check for said spare connector. The 2013 and 2015 have a different setup though, BC functions are not controlled by buttons on the wiper stalk for example.

Sounds interesting is there any chance of some piccys of the setup you have.  :)

Well, I am just about to list an auto-dimming mirror on fleabay if anyone wants to make me a sensible offer NOT to list it?

Has Laidback66 managed to get his hands on one yet only he did ask if my other one was up for grabs yet, still not tested :)

He seems to have gone off the scene for abit, he may be interested if still after one.

I have two lol ;D still making the loom up to plug in for the seats but have now removed my mirror and back to standard for the time being. If I can get them both tested in due course one will be up for sale soon. :)

Hillper that info is most helpful

I still have my problem but now I have my doubts about it just being the drivers side either the connector or the actual heat pad itself I didn't know about fuse 29

I guess this is fine though as all the lights to the switches work.

F20 for the back should this have a fuse already fitted as I know the passenger rear seat works need to do thorough testing to be sure.

Still need to check the connectors its just one job after another.

Not so bothered about drilling when I come to do it but does anyone think there maybe a connector in the bootlid.

88
As in the above I would eventually like to get my hands on one of these but can they be fitted without doing a bodge.

My car at the moment does not have this and was wondering whether it would have a hidden connector in the boot lining for connectivity.

At a guess a hole would need to be made to run the cable in would this be right.

If its too much trouble to fit one with the brake light I shall have a look for one without.

Has anyone added one of these before.

Still haven't had a chance to check the connections, still tomorrow I'm off due to my son's birthday so may be able to get a spare few minutes, fingers crossed as it annoying me now. :)

Shall check fuse 14 when I get home, just hope its something simple.

Checked fuse 14 to find the wrong ampage fuse changed and still no joy.

Shall have to re check the connection, I'm guessing corrosion can be a possible problem.
