Old cars cost money to keep on the road. If you are mechanically proficient and know a lot about the omega, most things can be fixed fairly cheaply and in short order. But you've got to have the time to do it and be willing to give up that time.
If, like me, you just want to get in and drive a car, then the omega is not for you. They can be very frustrating and you have to love them or you'll hate them.
Believe me STEMO Iv had plenty old cars, cant afford to get new....
I can weild many spanners, welders, ratchets etc... mechanically profieciency isnt a problem, time isnt a problem - pissed off working on the same car coz something else has gone wrong thats just cost a oppsing bomb to replace is a problem.... genuine gaskets etc... cost a shit load of money that I just aint got.... Im fed-up of the ruddy thing going wrong constantly... its now travelled 160000 miles, that in my book is a lot of miles for a car.... please dont start bleeting on about it not being a lot of miles for an Omega, or its only just run-in .... 'dangle berries'... its an old car that IS starting to cost a lot of time and money... im am unwilling to repair it again coz Im fed-up of repairing the ruddy thing...
At the end of the day - its just a car..... its old... its costing money to keep it running... im spending no-more money on it .....
Simple as that really....
