Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Still Having Issues!
« on: 20 March 2011, 14:34:11 »
Still can't get the electrics in the seats to work, so still can't get them and the carpets out. Bit of a bugger, but the climate is dead, so are the clocks and radio, although the wiring for the Bose speakers, sub and amp has been unplugged removed.
Interior light also no longer works.
Fuses all seem to be OK, even tested those that are relevant and all fine.  :-/

Any ideas?
I really need the seats and carpets out before I start with the sparkly wand!  :D

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Elite Lecky Front Seats & Heater
« on: 30 January 2011, 20:28:08 »
2000MY 2.5 V6 Elite.

When I disconnected the battery some months ago, all seemed well - I did reconnect it briefly and had these problems, (might have asked then) but now I need to get on with the Truck.

So, I had moved the electric memory seats as far forward as they will go, reconnected battery tonight and Nothing. Nil. Nowt. Nada.

Driver's seat seems to have no power and won't move - I'm assuming the passenger's seat will be the same.
i can't see any manual crank of any kind - is there one?
Battery is now on charge till tomorrow night.
I really to remove the seats and carpets to start welding this truck up.

As an aside, the heating system won't switch n either - bit of a noise when button id pressed for about 5 seconds, but again, nothing, nil, nowt, nada.

Fuses would appear to be OK under the dash - anywhere else to look?
 :( :( :(

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CCR 2006
« on: 13 July 2010, 19:58:47 »
Having a slight problem with it - it skips a millisecond now and then when playing CD's.
Doesn't matter if the CD is new or copied, but it's starting to irritate me now.
Probably a nightmare to fix (if it is at all possible), so with that in mind, I managed to find a fascia adaptor for a single DIN head unit at Billing for a mere fiver (rude not to, really!).

Bearing in mind the steering wheel controls, the MFD and the fact I'd like a head unit with a 3.5 mm jack input, what would you guys recommend?

Not JVC cos I think JVC car stuff is bloody terrible! :-/

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Few Electrical Probs!
« on: 06 July 2010, 21:51:45 »
As some of you know, I've been building a truck from our Elite Wagon, but now I have a few electrickey problems now.

Plugged ECU back in, stuck return cable back on to battery and it started fine.
Autobox works, but no Climate Control, no MFD and no lecky seats - which is crap cos they're both as far forward as they'll go!
Mirrors, wipers, lights, indicators, etc all fine AFAIK.

GULP!!!!!!! :-/

Refitted ECU and battery to the Elite truck after doing some welding, turned key, started fine, but nothing on the climate panel - just a fuse?

Can't actually get at much to look yet! :-/

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Estate Alarm
« on: 25 April 2010, 17:57:56 »
If I just cut the wires to the rear side windows, will the alarm activate?
If it does, then what do I need to do?
Or, can I simply connect a wire to both (to keep the circuit) and then remove the pads from the windows?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Sidelight Bulb Issue
« on: 28 February 2010, 19:19:22 »
The MV6 keeps blowing the front left sidelight bulb. Seem OK for a couple of days then pop.
Right front and rears all OK, interiors all OK.

Any bright ideas, please? :D

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Osram Nightbreaker Bulbs
« on: 03 January 2010, 11:52:12 »
After many on here recommend these bulbs, I've just fitted a pair for the main beam - don't see any difference, still a crappy yellow colour!

Will see if they're better when it's dark I guess.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Bose
« on: 20 January 2010, 09:48:11 »
The Elite is to be stripped out, so might as well fit some of the goodies to the MV6, and was wondering how difficult the Bose and phone systems would be to transfer.
Any ideas?

Elite - 2.5 2000 facelift
MV6 - 2.6 2001 facelift

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Headlights Aim
« on: 14 November 2009, 19:45:30 »
Keep getting flashed, so thought I'd check my headlights.
The wife's Elite seems fine, so lit up the garage door with hers and stuck some masking tape to the outlines of the beam pattern.
Put my MV6 in it's place, and not a great deal of difference, but enough for an oncoming driver to get a flash of my Xenons.

Is there a way of adjusting the beam pattern/aim on Xenon lights?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / MV6 -Cruise Control?
« on: 25 October 2009, 17:52:06 »
Summat our Elite has that I'd like on my MV6 is cruise control.
Is it just the stalk then hook up to Tech 2, or more than that?
Mine is a 2.6, 2001 car.
