Faulty radiator cap?
« on: 14 April 2009, 08:47:21 »

Hello guys,

hope u all doing great. I just needed a piece of advice for a friend who has an Astra G actually. We we going around yesterday in the Astra when we noticed his temperature went up to the red mark (I mean, completely UP- maximum!). His fans were running fine and we have been using the a/c. we then stopped to check it out and we found steam coming from under the hood, and a few seconds later we noticed that coolant was coming out from under the car. When I lifted the bonnet, I found that the coolant was actually coming with tremendous from UNDER the radiator cap (at many points) which is firmly screwed in place. Do you think it's the radiator cap that should be replaced or do you think it's something else? Note that he noticed his engine temperature goes up every time he uses air conditioning lately.

Thanks :exclamation
