Rat / Mouse Deterrent
« on: 02 February 2014, 21:01:47 »

Is there anything i could put under the bonnet to frighten them off ?

Checking the fluids, I Noticed they chewed some of the padding on the passenger side back of the engine  >:( Nothing too serious YET luckily, But they might come back and find something more then padding to chew  :-\.

I wouldn't spray anything that contained those ingredients in my engine bay. Not saying it would do any harm but it just might.

Thanks for the offer cd 2.2 , Think I'll pass on this occasion  ::) ;D

Now then, Think I'll move away from Deterrent and look to Terminate them  :y

Put say x5 traps under the car and one under the engine maybe or that might encourage them more. Looks like the job of a mouse rather than a rat to me but not certain.

Run a pipe from the exhaust under the car and up into the engine bay, leave the bonnet down and leave running for half an hour or so!  ;)

That should gas the little bastids out!!  :)

Nice idea, Didn't think of that  :y.. But Surely they aren't in the engine while driving and only go there at night and scamper off when the engine is fired up ???

(I say THEY but there could well be only one)

Yes you're probably right. They like it as it's nice, warm and cosy!  :)  Maybe they're building a nest with the foam in the scuttle drain...  :-\

Second thoughts forget the exhaust pipe idea, the neighbours might spot it and dial 999!!  ;D ;D ;D

From previous videos, I'm sure you live in a nicer area than that posts suggests. ;)
