Which oil filter please?
« on: 30 October 2009, 15:22:04 »

I Think I saw something about this recently, but to save me trawling through, can someone in the know just veritfy for me the correct filter for my 2.5 V6 please? is it the VOF93?

The oil is black and I don't know when it was last changed, I'm thinking of buying 1/2 dozen filters and cheap oil for a few changes at short intervals, then filling with Shell Helix Plus semi synthetic, what I usually use.
It's in for the MOT in a couple of weeks and I want everything as tip top as possible for then.

What are the correct/best spark plugs for this engine? I used iridium plugs in my MK2 MR2, which I sold to buy this Omega.

It depends on the year, early oneshave the metal type oil filters and the later ones have the paper insert ones. I would use Vauxhlls own 10/40 semi synthetic oil :y

Just an after thought, but who makes the Vauxhall Oil? As far as I'm aware, vauxhall don't make oil? so it will be bought from someone else who does.
I've used Shell helix for some time now, I also use exclusively Shell fuel, I always used V.Power in the MR2, when I got the Omega I put standard unleaded in, I changed to V Power 2 weeks ago and the car runs better now, smoother and pulls better.
