Thanks Chazza but unless any of those are Bose units I'd still be into swapping out all the speakers/wiring for "ordinary" ones and if I'm doing that I may as well fit the blaupunkt I already own.

I got an Blaupunkt Amp for normal HU's that will happily run Bose 2 Ohm Speakers kicking around somewhere, its got a bit more punch over the Bose Amp as well. ;).

Yes I sawyour list DG and even looked at them on e-bay.I'd've been tempted by one of those compact CD multi-changers but using my CCR for radio/volume etc[my car doesn't have nav by the way,it had the TM system fitted from new-still got the button on the dash for it]would be a non-starter as the radio picks its own volume as I drive it will play perfectly normally for ages and then out of nowhere it's suddenly loud enough to make your ears bleed or it goes so quiet it's almost as though I've turned the radio off. There's no way of telling what volume I'm likely to get at any given time :o The Sony head unit set up to me looks awful and it's priced at £150 give or take which is way too much, but thanks for the links :y

My CD player has packed up too and the radio has an annoying habit of tuning into any station it wants..

I am convinced the non volatile memory in CCR2006s gets poorly eventually.

Occasionally mine will forget what radio station was tuned in and sometimes, it fails to turn off, leaving the MID illuminated until I pull the fuse to reset it. ::)

Best plan is probably to replace it with a cheap aftermarket head unit and fascia adaptor, TBH. More of a PITA if you have Bose, of course.
