Seems a good price to me, how much more for Centrino rather than Celeron?.

Ripping out Vista and installing XP Pro is the sort of thing I would think about as well, but you need to convince yourself that your going to get all the Laptop drivers working again properly.

Im not a fan of Vista but hear that SP 1 on vista works well now, think if you put Vista in Windows Classic mode seems to get rid of all those security pop ups?

Use Vodafone on contract £15 a month for thier 3gb allowance, good thing is they dont charge you if you go over, not bad for HSDPA gets about 2 meg speed on average, never managed to get thier 7.2 meg speed yet. even sitting under one of thier Masts.

Also use T Mobile PAYG 3g on a add hoc basis in the PDA, £2.50 for 6 Day bundle (text web to 441), and they some times give you 5 Days free web when you top up £5, also totally unlimited, but because its PAYG even at HSDPA signal its limited to 3G speeds.

Tried 3 on thier HSDPA (Turbo Network) works ok at HSDPA (about 2 Meg speed) but bloodly frightning if you go over the limit, they charge £1 per Meg!, not worth taken the chance.

Chassis earth, or a piece of wire going back to your Negative on your Battery.

Blimey takes me back my first Car was Posative Earth and the car was about 30 years old then. That was in the days of positive earth radio's and TV's, seem to remimber Germanium Transistors (PNP) when the world thougt that electrons traveled from positive to negative!  :-?

« on: 20 September 2008, 17:45:51 »
Just had my favorite late breakfast afternoon snack.

4 Crumpets well grilled, I like them nice a crunchy, plenty of butter, creamy cheese with chopped spring onion then topped with peperomi slices. Back under the grill so the peperomi gets crispy and all that red oil runs into the cheese, lovely, washed down with half a gallon of tea and an Hour of Dave.

Beat that for a Tea break.
