V6 crank sensor
« on: 27 December 2017, 17:42:46 »

Can someone clarify for me. The crank sensor on the v6. What is the bolt size holding it in the block. In the guide it says t8(male)but it appears to be a female when I looked earlier. As I will need to buy a socket can someone share their wisdom. Thanks.

Sounds like previous owner/garage has been fiddling and replaced bolt with a suitable threaded alternative, probably as original lost.

T8 is correct from those I have had to replace from memory.

Given how much modern torx are used on modern cars, worth getting a strip of E8 though to E20.

Omega uses E8, E10, E14, E16 and E20.  Can't think of any E12 or E18 on it.
