I see it's got the optional Jimbob attachment too. ;)

Don't know the mileage, or how many owners... but there is something going for it, it is a Rolls Royce......

any takers?

Amazing, the first jet engine I ever worked on. The early ones provided only 3600Lbs static thrust at 14700 RPM, from my RR course notes which I still have ;D ;D ;D

Can you imagine if it was fitted into a miggy and sitting in a pub.

Yeah, I had this Vx Omega Elite Estate and the engine yet go.  So I shopped arround and found an old Rolls Royce lump on Ebay.

Nice one Mate, what sort of power and performace does that give you then.

Well, it revs to 14700 RPM, power output is abot 3600.

FFS, mate, how fast will that do,

Dunno matey, cant find a road long enough to test it.  ::) ::) :P

I was thinking of some snow chains to cope with the Omega's occasional lack of traction on the white stuff but this thread has opened up some more interesting alternatives.  [smiley=evil.gif]

Haha, the problem would then be stopping it.

Interestingly with the current weather, in the late fifties we used these engines strapped to a frame in front of a David Brown (I think) tractor, fired them up, and used the contraption for snow clearing on airfields.  :D Great fun driving it, but difficult to drive against the thrust. As I recall it was two engines.

There is a car in Haynes Museum at Sparkford with a Rolls Royce Aero engine in it, can't remember what model, probably a Merlin. :y

This might be the chap starting the engine.

Now if it was a V12 then Lizzie might have had that to fit in her miggy to give it some more power.   ;D ;D

Would this engine fit my miggy? :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :D :D  Would I have to replace the loom? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

However, as Skruntie suggests, I really I do want a Merlin if someone can obtain it and fit the engine into my miggy! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;) ;)

Peolpe thought I was mad when I did banger racing as a kid and ran cars with shortened(nearly non-existant)exhaust just to see the flames. At least it does show the firing order in an easy to understand way
