Rust. Particularly around the front chassis legs and rear sills.

The usual rules apply re water ingress and rodent damage.

Being the BMW 6 cylinder lump rather than the GM 2.2dti, it should go ok. Haynes manual might be of use.

Depending on specification it may have self levelling rear suspension. If this doesn't work and you fit standard rear shocks then you're going to need to uprate the rear springs. If it requires suspension repairs then budget around €1000 to go through it.

Looks like Thursday is old farts driving day out, for effs sake 35 in a 60 on a clear road. Then the road ruiners have filled a layby with gravel to wreck some side roads (same ones they ruined last year by the look of it) and have temp traffic lights so they can load wagons. 20mph and loose gravel signs on the main road so of course the old farts are slowing down even though the side roads have not been tared.

Goiod afternoon, I have just agreed to "rescue" an Omega td automatic estate car that has been parked up in  a field in France for at least five years.
The paintwork (metallic) is faded from the sun and it clearly needs a full service and overhaul but,I think , it will be a good workhorse for us in rural France and plenty of room in the back for our big old dog. I have restored many abandoned, parked and neglected cars in teh past but am wondering if thetre are any specific things to look at and/or watc out for specific to an Omega Estate car ? Cheers Andy.

I received a large questionnaire in the post yesterday from Essex County Council.
Apparently my household has been chosen to do this in order to " help shape the future of Essex." 
Im looking forward to filling it in, but well aware it wont make a blind bit of difference.
Its just so they can claim to consult residents / voters, take their views into account etc. etc.

Feedback nearly all bad (exceptions of schools / housing estates etc)

I'd love to know what lessons were learned from the feedback.....I'd suggest none, so why pilot in the first place.

The way the world actually works is that people with an agenda sponsor puppets into positions of control. Unfortunately, many of those being sponsored, mostly leftists, don't think, or want to ask why they're being sponsored.

Ironically, many of those who complain about this way of doing things are actually Labour voters.

The only way to stop this state of affairs is to either not vote for these sponsored puppets, or if it's too late, hold the puppets to the ultimate account... It's not accidental that Sadie Kahn has a larger protection detail than Dishy...

Ask the question then ignore the reply. Sounds about right.
