If you can't get IPA, meths will do. :y Or gin, most likely.  :D

You really need to sort your Drinking Habits out Kevin, IPA is only £1.99 a Pint at the local Whetherspoons, so much more suitable attire than drinking the Meths Beverage

I wonder if water has penetrated the switches?

I would expect everything else on the board to be impervious to water  :-\

Yes it will have.
Immersing the circuit board in pure (99% or better) IPA should drive out the water. It also evaporates quickly and leaves no residue.
The switches can probably be de-soldered and replaced fairly easily. If it can be established that the switches are the problem.

The gentle scrub first with a toothbrush and IPA should clean off any oxide that's shorting out anything else.
The 3V battery cell will be discharged and needs to be replaced.

Bombay Sapphire or Gordon's won't work as it's 60% water.
The solution that Bigiron used to improve the sound of his Bay City Rollers records was likely diluted with 50% distilled water.
Proper methylated spirit is worth a shot if no pure IPA is to be had. But might contain impurities and leave a residue.

However nobody should invest too much cash into this. It might not work if one of the components and/or the board is corroded or damaged.

No one seems to have mentioned him, but Martin Imber has been repairing / replacing Omega fobs for years.  I suggest you try him:

I cannot answer that one, but Martin I am sure can advise.

I am certainly no expert on these fobs. I however do not understand some of the answers you have had about the need to re-programme / tech 2 the electronic board if replaced.  This can be replaced by Martin if damaged permantly without any programming, as it is the chip in the main body of the fob that if damaged / replaced needs to have that done. As the chip is completely enclosed in plastic water cannot affect it, so if this has not been compromised you only need to sort out the board. ;)

As I said, I am no expert. All I know on that point is that I have swapped around the boards between fobs from my spares box, along with those supplied by Martin, and they just work if the original chip is still in place. ;)

Wait now though for further advise from others who know more about fobs :D ;)

I thought  the initial PCB (Remote Fob) needs original Coding to the Car, and I dont mean the Imob Chip or the Fob re-sync feature.

It does. :y
Martin Imber can replace the switches or the casing if its damaged. If you replace the board it will need programming via tech 2.  ;)
