Knowle is a suburb south west of Bristol, with the steepest streets I have seen, with terraced houses on both sides. I shall be there Friday on business.
The above advert is interesting in that all the pictures are either sideways or upside down. At £450 could it be a bargain?

Two things spring to mind...
1. The seller needs to learn how to take pictures.
2. He needs his eyes checked. The only way that car will have alloys is if someone decides to fit them ::)
From the pics/description, you'll need a tyre or four and all four dash vents are broken.
Budget for a service and potentially a radiator (based on the mileage) :y

It's one I gave a link for in another thread
Go look at it before bidding Terry
has an excellent MOT history
I think Terry prefers steel wheels to alloys anyway DG and broken vent trims won't effect the drive-ability :P
tyres etc ,Terry can check when he looks and test drives ,BEFORE bidding hopefully

Are you sure it's Knowle and not Knowle West? ???
As you say Terry, Knowle is quite nice with streets of Victorian terraces clinging to the steep hillsides with great views over the city to Brunel's Clifton Suspension Bridge. :y
Knowle West however...... ::) Just check your life insurance! :)

Odd one, isn't it? I shall be in Knowle anyway Friday morning, delivering bingo books, so it seems tempting to go and look at it. It's an exclusive, so smaller steel wheels - good - and all Vectras have cruise. I see no harm in having a test drive, then I can contemplate it and bid if it's still cheap enough.
I missed the lack of vents. The vents on my donor Astra might fit it.

No, completely different vents
you could get them off ebay or from a breakers , I would not bother on a cheap car

After an exchange of messages to arrange a viewing and road test the vendor abruptly ended the auction 'due to an error in the listiing'. Hey ho.

Not sold to you then ?
it's very common for sellers to end auctions because people ask for details and make "outside ebay" cash offers >:(
odd he has not contacted you ,if you have arranged a test drive/viewing , that would be common courtesy ::)

Not sold to me, but this morning I see it's been relisted. He has told me he is away till Saturday, so I will make contact again then

It's a shed and he wants someone to buy it blind. ;)

I think I bought all my Omegas blind. They were cheap enough, and it wasn't worth the expense of travelling to inspect them before bidding. Astras and Vectras are more expensive, so I like to inspect cars before purchase. This restricts my choice.

And ebay is known to be full of idiots as well.
My 2 ebay deliveries this week, both classed as Used but working, are both awaiting seller response on the resolution centre. Clearly they've found stuff, no idea (or CBA) to test, so list it and chance it. And waste my time, effort and money to test their shit for them. And until the whole thing works its way through - queries and answers for 10 days, then sending back because they agree, then them being slow to refund. That's my £250 that they are getting interest on, and I'm not.

Car finally sold for £600, may have been a bargain, but I did not inspect or test drive so cannot really say. My son Ben, who is driving my Vectra while I repair his Astra, says he prefers the Vectra. Too late now.

Never mind Terry, it's not as if they are rare. :)
