Washed it …..again.  :)
By the grumbling sounds coming from the front of the 190 the last couple of days I need to change the lower balljoints very soon.
If ignored they fail, which results in the car flipping onto its roof if enough speed is involved.  ::)

Spent the morning removing sat nav mechanisms from 2 NCDC ,s and swopping them back after finding the hopefully quick fix would get working nav again..unfortunately it didn't.

Slight result though after fitting spare NCDC back into car with GID inplace of CID,the nav has shown signs of working so the fault must lie within the original headunit….only issue now is the Monochrome GID is dead and has no images at all on screen so having fun and games trying to establish if all operations with the headunit work...…….didn't realise the Headunit would work without the screen working ,although have been advised screen was paired to headunit

Well yesterday, been getting the odd coolant level warning on the daily, found the remnants of the float in the reservoir (don't know where the plastic top clip is...). Had a new reservoir in the shed so put that on the project car then put its reservoir on the daily.
You might want to find the retainer... It's just the wrong size and might find its way into the plumbing :'(
Well no sign of it in the header and done over 1100 miles since the first low coolant message  ::) :-[

Had a nice new solar reflective screen fitted by Autoglass. The fitter was a really nice fella who seemed to be a perfectionist, so hopefully all will be ok.

No serious rust under the screen, just a little surface rust along the bottom, which I sanded down and treat with Bilthambers finest.

First time for everything, but very much a positive result :y

In trying to trace the source of fumes entering the cabin, have discovered a perished fuel line to the fuel rail, so will need to order some iso 7840 hose and might as well do the filter and associated rubbery from the tank forwards...  :-\

He was the same age as me. Told me that he wouldn't trust most of the young fitters to top up screenwash never mind fitting a screen.  ;D
I never knew my car had a reflective type screen, but I noticed it straight way on the new one once fitted.  :-\

Retrieved it so I can leave it in an undesirable location tomorrow night.  Also gave it a top up of much needed air.

Cleaned out both front wheel arches, Dinitrolled the internal chassis legs and sills, fitted replacement wishbones. Whilst under there, ripped off the remainder of the pre-cat shroud on the N/S, undid the engine oil filter housing (easier to get to with no track rods in the way) and found out I didn't have the cartridge filter on the shelf as I thought I did.... never mind, at least it was easy to undo for when I do get a replacement (horror stories abound on here when the filter housing just spins around because it's been tightened more than 15 N/M). Weather and mood dependant will result in the shocks, hubs and brakes being refitted, and at least she will be rolling again!
