Opel omega (2000) 2.2 performance chip?
« on: 23 November 2020, 16:15:29 »

So i want to chip my Omega b 2.2 (2000y)
Any tips to where to do it or how because I'm new in this car community and I don't know much about it.
It would be great to tell me the process of it and the +/- cost of it.
Been searching for a while and there is almost no info  about it.

Fit the Z20let from the Astra G and call it done.

I'm not aware of any performance chips for that engine.  If any were available, it wouldn't be a "chip" but a reflash.

On a NA engine, off the shelf maps rarely produce much (probably around 5% tops for the very best), despite the claims otherwise, so probably barely noticable.  To get useful gains, you need to find a proper tuner who will tweak the map on a rolling road.

Plug in boxes to fool the ECU into overfuelling do somewhere between SFA and kanckering the cat, again no matter what they promise.

With a proper Remap (ECU Flash) you're not going to get much change out of 2 or 300 quid, and if I'm honest, you're unlikely to see any noticeable improvements on a 2L non-turbo engine without some other serious modifications in place.  :(

Get a VXR8 ;D
Fixed  :)

saw a nice VXR8 in Lidl today ,I was talking to the owner
said he'd had all the Mercs, BMWs ,Lexus etc and the HSV was  the best car he's owned
Also said his best MPG was 30 on a run to the south and average was 19
so i don't feel so bad about my green. economic V6's 23.8 MPG  ;D

I'd sooner fit the Saab B engine. Better made, better internals.

My sentiments entirely get a V6 or V8 performance issues solved.

Exactly. Quickest, easiest, cheapest way to a properly fast Omega.
