Another projekt

I like to include a normal windows PC into an omega. Navigation, entertainment, internet, diagnose sytem on board... everything is possible.

I did some work on it. The main problems are solved. To do the adaption to a real car will be a nice winter project!

I see that you have a small keypad with several controls on it.
How will you control the PC?

Very nice indeed. Don't know how people do these things, very impressed. Can't wait to see what you do.

My ultimate for a system like this is would be one that includes all the trip computer, and check control information, plus internet, and other normal computer functions etc. No idea if that's feasible, but as Dave says, will watch this thread with interest, keep us updated!

Hi,

THX for interrest. What you see on the pictures is the TFT monitor and TFT controler. The little swichboard is needed to select TFT s input.

I need 3 inputs. One for the Windows PC (Navigation, Entertainment, Internet). The second one will be used for a simulation of Omegas BC. Of course Omegas diagnose system will get an interface to the windows PC.

The third input will show a rear view camera.

The PC will be controlled by a trackball mouse, placed near handbrake. Opional a wireless mini keybord will be useable. As PC i will use a notebook mainboard with a single operation voltage of 18 volt DC. For car operation a DC/DC converter 12->18 Volt is onboard.

Looks very nest and tidy. 

How are you going to capture the Cars BC within Windows or are you just going to emulate the screen info?, or are you going to use ODB2 (if the car is post 2001).

How about putting a Thorens TD125 Plinth mounted on the back Parcel Self.

Why is there 2 Tone Arms?, is one for the Left Channel and the other for the Right.

If you like to hear different kinds of records in best way, it is senseful to use optimized pickups. Using more than 1 tonearm avoids many work to change pickups.

No I appreciate that Rolf, was just joking with you. 

I mean if it was one tone arm for each left and right channel, you would have the second channel amplifier a few thousand miles away to catch up on the time delay between the two.
