Title: Re: 2.5 TD Power Steering Hose
Post by: 350sb on 11 March 2017, 08:40:05

Hi Guys,

Has anyone replaced a power steering return hose on a 2.5 diesel before? My return hose has a cut on the section next to the battery and is leaking badly when turning the steering.  I purchased a so called genuine part from Vauxhall-Car-Parts and they sent me a pipe (part no. 24405033) with a fitting on one end only but with no fitting on the other end to go to the pump.
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

If i remember right i had the same on another car ive had, you only get the pipe and on fitting the other end you need a crimp kit its a cap you fit over the pipe and crimp it to the conetor were the old pipe was fitted. think you can buy them on bay for around £20 and they come with the fittings. some people just use a jubilee but a good make not one of these cheap ones.

If its only the return line then a suitable piece of rubber and a jubilee clip should suffice as the oil is hardly under any pressure.

Anybody remembers inner/outer diameter of those hoses that are attached to power steering pump reservoir?
