Front subframe bolts
« on: 13 February 2015, 16:56:01 »

Are these angle tightened for accuracy or because they are stretch bolts?

I have a little derusting job to do for which I need to loosen off the steering box and lower the o/s/r corner of the front subframe. I have tools to get into small spaces for derusting so I don't need to drop the components off completely.

Does anyone have a torque setting for the steering box bolts please?

Any tips for working in this area gratefully received.

Torque should be in Haynes :y

If you're only dropping one bolt...

Blindness now overcome. Have steering box bolt torque in Haynes.

Even though I only have to loosen the one bolt completely, I might have to back off the n/s/r and o/s/middle to get the corner I want to drop.
