To make the Bose  work you will also have to plug a fuse into an empty space on the fuse box.

HTH

can you remember which fuse no. it is and what rating fuse needed? (i'm also attempting this in a car without the loom!)

« on: 01 August 2009, 16:53:49 »
As above, finally fitted ccr800 bose system into my car. Everything seems to be working but can't work out how to input the cd changer code. The audio manual i've got doesn't cover models with cd changers! Any help, much appreciated!!  :y

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / sunroof stopped working
« on: 21 July 2009, 09:43:13 »
as above. car is off the road at the moment and i'm doing a few upgrades (its a gls). I had to change the battery because it had been stood for a while and gone flat. I've put rear electric windows in, and started putting a bose sound system in. i've moved the tc button onto the main row of switches (sat nav on way soon hopefully), and i've wired in a rear blind. I've not been anywhere near the sunroof wiring, and can't work out which fuse it runs off? any ideas??  :(

Which model CDR500 do you have? Delco, VDO, Siemens VDO, Grundig or Philips?

It may be that its a different set of buttons

2 & 4 are favourites also.

its a delco, will give the other buttons a go...  :y

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / cdr-500 display problem
« on: 14 July 2009, 16:43:57 »
Hey, just tried putting the cdr500 out of my mig in my mk3 astra and all works except nothing comes up on the display. Tried it back in the mig and definately works fine on that display. the original car300 back in the astra works the display fine... am i missing something obvious here or does the cdr500 just not work the astra disply fullstop?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: remote locking

I'm interested in this topic. I have a 1995 'M' 3.0 Elite which I never got any remote keys with it when I bought it. The remote function is there as seen by the black dome in the headlining & I would like to have the remote function. I realise that I need a new key, but I don't know which ones.

What key do I need?
Would the Remote be built in?
How much work is involved?

I was told that the new remote has to be programmed to the car. Which in my case most likely involves me booking it in with Vx.  :(

I assume what worked for mine would work on yours. If you swap the central locking control unit from another car (located behind the kick panel on drivers side) then you just need the remote that goes with it. Depending if you get the control unit and keys with the fob built onto the key, then you'll have to get blank key blades cut to match your car locks and swap the chip over from the old key/s. I'm breaking a car with working remote (with the 2 button remote key type) if your interested?

Woo Hoo... just swaped the central locking control unit over, fiddled with the key fob for a bit and now remote key off the other car works!!!  :D :D

just need to get a horseshoe type key part cut for it now and swap the chip over!!

Fair to say, am well chuffed!!  :)

Thanks to everyone who offered advice for me on this!!  :y
