Yeah, my hearse is going to have a V8... and my funeral procession is going to be more like the first lap at Brands Hatch, than holding people up...

I've no idea how much it cost to convert, but as a comparison, a place where my Dad works recently bought a Merc hearse. It was £90 000! (Ninety thousand)  :o  :o  :o
It's still not cheap though, and they obviously have a very limited market.  :y

i have heard of a lad who rents out a hearse to a funeral directors this way on for £200 per week

well if you have 2/3 kids then holiday's won't be problem, plenty of boot space lol, also the roof rack (for extra luggage, not kids  ;D)
