Essex Meet (Easter Weekend)
« on: 19 February 2012, 18:30:36 »

As per title, looking at same venue (The Crown - Ardleigh Interchange) 8). Easter weekend either Saturday or Sunday.  Any preference to which day - please make it known.  As usual all parties welcome. :y

Best regards

You pick the day... Normally when you pick a date we get good weather :y :y

Have you popped in to make sure they don't mind?

Obviously we will try to be there, although I might be in the van ::)

We'll do our best to make it, whichever day you choose JCB.  All being well, I should have my Omega back from the 'shop by then as well!  :y

Having said that, not 100% sure we'll both be able to make it ::) We have people staying with us so it may be tricky... We won't know until nearer the time ;)

I'm sure I'll be able to pop in though :y

It's just off the A120/A12 junction on the north side of Colchester. It's a slightly confusing island as it's an immediate left turn off the slip road onto the A120, and if you miss it then it's a fair way before you can turn around on the A120.

On the island itself there are 4 main turn offs, A12 north (Ipswich), A120 east, Colchester south, A12 west (London). Take the A120 keeping tight into the left and the left turn, then follow the road to the T-junction and turn right, the carpark is on the right.

Another successful Essex meet!  Great to see you all again!  I'm sorry I had to rush off to help Albs but he only had a couple of hours before his Omega turned into a pumpkin and he returned to yet another long nightshift!!  :y

Sounds like a good meet for all, wanted to come along, mind was willing, body wasn't (Man Flu). Special thanks to Ken (Nitro) and partner for dropping some bits off on the way, nice to meet you both, and look after that Red ex Met (DPG / S016) not many left now.

Chris. ;)

Damn it ! I wish I'd have checked here first, I'd just picked up my new Omega from the other side of Ipswich on Saturday - took nearly 3 hours to get home as it kept cutting out on me as I was driving along. I actually broke down right next to the Crown - if I'd known you guys were there I would have popped in for some emotional support!

Cranksensor? Paperclip it, see if there is a lurking 19

Yep, that was my first thought - both the MAF and the ICV have been changed recently and it idles very smoothly and drives ok, no jerkiness, no coughing and the revs stay even. It will just cut out suddenly when the ECU/immobliser light comes on and the power dies. Leave it to cool for 10 minutes and it'll start up again. Does anyone know what the voltage across the crank sensor is, so I can check first rather than just replace it blind.

Do paperclip test - see Maintenece Guides for code reading.

Black saloon? Attended by the AA? I nearly came over to have a chat when I drove past saying "I bet it's the Crank Sensor" to a slightly wobbly JCB :-X ::)
