Drove around the block.

After a few yards, the first left turn was too easy and I had to struggle to straighten the wheel afterwards.  It quickly became clear that the steering wheel was near vertical when driving straight ahead, and the steering was like swimming in porridge.

Totally undrivable, so left and left again straight back home.

Turns out my wife had borrowed the car earlier and, in a dozy moment, taken evasive action by bumping up a kerb at speed.   >:( >:( >:(

NSF wheel buggered, front wheels visibly toeing in so something seriously bent underneath.  Get out and get under in the morning but it's not looking good.

I wouldn't mind so much if there had been some sort of apology but no - she thought if she said nothing I wouldn't notice.   :-* :-* :-*

Any suggestions for revenge?

Didn't realise you could do burnouts in GHDs.   ;)

Anyway, she rarely has good hair days and I'm certainly not having one.  Scuse me while I go and change my avatar to Mr. Grumpy.

As the resident cat woman I know you know what GHD's are. I spend most days pulling the plug out the wall or triping over the bloody things. Sometimes when red hot! Women! Honestly!

I can indeed :y :y :y Although I rarely use them for anything! ::)

I spent the best part of £600 in there on Saturday.. trade card would have been very handy  ;D ;D Though I see now all you need is a business card, according to their website..

Congrats LD, I hope that there be a multitude of muppets to keep you in business  :y

Aaron you should have given me a call, I have a TC for Halfrauds and I get trade at CAF as well  :y

Kerb stone 1 v 0 suspension

Better news than I expected following last nights wheel v kerb stone contest.  Nothing bent underneath but the camber adjustment unceremoniously whacked to full limit, together with accompanying vast toe in.

Wheel bearing has play and sounds like Thomas the Tank Engine but the wheel is more or less circular albeit with a lovely gouge out of it.  Quite tough, those Elite wheels!

Could have been worse  :-\

Took the 300ZX for an MOT - most nerve wracking drive I've ever done (no tax - insured, of course, but no tax & MOT. Pre-booked MOT, naturally).

It failed :(

Needs more welding, apparently, and has a badly leaking rear shock.. now I have to decide if I want to spend the £200 or so to save it, or just ship it off to the knackers yard.

Bah, no edit function.

[edit] ;) also discovered that the windscreen washer pump is siezed (probably because it hasn't been used in 8 years!). Getting the front bumper off to change it is a mission that will almost certainly lead to snapped studs and new wings being needed. That may have pushed it over the edge into 'get shot' territory. Boo. Sniffle.

Rebleed the front brakes again on TBE, as have an odd wander under medium braking at high speed...   ...not tested yet.
