.......I'm mortgage free. :y

The best the bastards would offer me was 4.74%. I wanted 2.5% or less.

It's a fair old chunk of change I had to come up with as the mortgage had 8 years to run (2026) but I console myself with the fact I'll save thousands in interest and have an additional £850 each month to squander. :D

Nice feeling though.

Now what can I waste £850 on each month....... ::)

It's equivalent to saving over seventy grand in an account paying 4.74% interest for eight years. Except........there is no tax to pay on the interest.

What kept ya?  ::) I've been mortgage free for about 4 yrs now  :y .....but for some reason I still don't have loads of cash left at the end of the month  :-\. And I wasn't paying £850 a month either

Been mortgage free since 1987 inheritance very lucky, hate paying interest on anything always 0 percent or discount for cash  otherwise no deal from me ! Congratulations Opti Aston Martin possible now 😀

In a way its free money, because everyone has to pay rent or a mortgage unless they are homeless. :y
